Music Fellowship
(Horsecross Arts – Perth Concert Hall & Perth Theatre)

Horsecross Arts is offering a Fellowship to a musician from an ethnic minority background who is resident in Scotland and can demonstrate significant achievement, proven excellence, ambition and vision. The Fellowship includes an opportunity to realise a project which could only take place using the facilities, services and support of Horsecross Arts. It may include collaborations with digital arts or drama and contribute to our creative learning programme. As well as offering the artist the benefit of working within an award winning organisation, the Fellowship will challenge the artist to create new work and develop new audiences.
The Fellowship will require a commitment of a minimum of 60 days over 12-18 months.

Bike Club is an innovative new project to create new cycling clubs and
activities for children and young people, funded by the ASDA
Foundation.

Bike Club is delivered in Scotland by a partnership of CTC (the
national cyclists'' organisation), Youth Scotland and ContinYou.

We are looking for Bike Club Development Officers to be responsible for
delivering the project, working closely with existing networks of staff
and volunteers in formal and nonformal learning settings.

You will need to demonstrate a good knowledge of community based
cycling or physical activity projects and programmes; work experience
across a range of community and youth work settings; and a track record of developing training and learning programmes.

The Role

The Development Officer will responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating the project.  They will support each investigation team through recruitment, training, workplan development, delivery, presentation and work with community planning partnerships.  A key element of the role will involve evaluation of the project and ensuring the learning is used to sensitise Young Scot’s products and services. 

Your Profile

You should be educated to degree level with experience of working with young people across a range of equal opportunities issues, including race , religion, age, disability, gender, and sexuality.  Partnership working and project management experience are also essential.  You should be a confident communicator and have excellent organisational and information technology skills.

Lanarkshire Carers Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and self-
motivated Bi-lingual Support Worker to work as part of our team
providing support to Carers who are affected by Blood Borne Viruses.

The candidate will need to possess a sound knowledge of working with
black and minority ethnic communities (BME) and an understanding of the barriers BME carers face in accessing services, as well as an
understanding of blood borne viruses.

The post holder will be required to support Carers in a variety of
services such as information, translation, 1:1/group support and
interpret/communicate with other users and staff as appropriate.

The candidate must be able to communicate in Urdu, (both written and
oral).

This post is 20 hour p/w and is funded by NHS Lanarkshire till March 2011

Rape Crisis Scotland

Volunteer Support Workers Required

Are you interested in learning skills to provide support & information to people affected by sexual violence? Rape Crisis Scotland is looking for volunteer support workers for the national helpline, which provides crisis support and information for survivors of sexual violence daily from 6pm to midnight.

A comprehensive training programme will be offered , sessions held on Monday evenings and some Saturdays, between May and August. You will gain many new skills & valuable experience. We offer a very welcoming & supportive environment, high level of training, great support & supervision and great opportunities for personal & professional development.
